Zoeva En Taupe Palette

I was looking for new makeup brushes on the Zoeva website when I found this beautiful eyeshadow palette called the En Taupe palette. The palette contains 10 eyeshadows which are shades of pinks, purple, silvers and a few shades of taupe browns. I ordered this from the Zoeva website and where it costs €17.50 which is around £13/14 here in the UK.
I love this palette so much and my favourite look from this palette is to use the white shade, Stitch by Stitch as a base for the whole eyelid, which I then darken up by using the matte pink shade Hour by Hour. I then layer a shimmery pink, Handmade over the lid before using Outline, the dark shimmery purple with gold specks, along my crease to darken out the eye colour.
The silver colour, Spun Pearl is also perfect to use for the inner corner with any eyeshadow look as it is so bright and reflective.
This palette is perfect for the spring time with the light pinks and purples and will look lovely on a sunny day with a cute outfit on!

Things University Has Taught Me

I've been at university for nearly six months now and I know I don't post as much as I should do on this blog, so I thought I would make a list of things that my life at university has taught me so far and any unusual things that I have noticed.
Got to love fancy dress!

1. You will have NO sleeping pattern.
Essays will be written at 3am on the day they're due in even if you started them weeks in advance and Netflix or Youtube will come before the sleep needed for your 9am seminars.

2.You will make friends with people that you never imagined yourself getting along with.
There are so many people all being thrown into the same situation as you and you're bound to find something in common with these people and become friends with them even if they weren't the sort of people you could have ever imagined yourself getting along with before.

3.There is no such thing as too much, or bad alcohol.
Believe me, you can drink so much at pre drinks that you don't think you could get any worse, but when you get to the club you can always manage a few more drinks, £1 jäger bombs will always do the trick. The cheaper the alcohol you buy the better ( Lidl Rosé and Peach Schnapps is the way to go in our group.) Though this tip has usually ended in some interesting nights out with my friends!

4.You will survive on naps.
Got home after a lecture? Nap. Going on a night out later? Nap. Tired but it's too early to go to bed? Nap. It always happens.

5. The North South Divide is real.
People who haven't crossed this boundary to go to their university probably haven't seen how important and harsh this boundary can be. As a Northern having moved down South for university you find out just how different people think you are and how much people will stereotype you. Its vicious.

6. There is no such thing as Salmonella.
Living with two boys and not being the cleanest myself, our kitchen has been in some states, and you will soon learn that the cleanliness of your family kitchen at home will never be achieved unless its the last day of term of the first day back. Yet no one ever gets ill from this (even if you only wash your tea towels once a term.)

7. You are not as grown up as you thought you were.
You thought that you were now mature and grown up living away from your parents and studying, however you quickly realise you really aren't.  You will get so drunk you will be in states you didn't know existed, you will go days without eating properly or eating purely junk food, you will cry when you miss home, watch Netflix all day to avoid your responsibilities and miss lectures if you can get away without going. You really aren't as mature as you thought, and love it when you can go home and be babied for a while.

8. Your friends become your family.
The group of friends you make will soon know more about you than anyone else ever has and you will see them so often, that a day without seeing them soon feels too long. These will be the people that you will always go to advice for and will ask for all of their judgements on every little decision. My group of girls have become my family and I couldn't live without them, even our stupid and annoying conversations.

These girls are now my family:)
Endings to nights are.. interesting?

Favourite Foundations

Rimmel Wake Me Up
I've been using the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation for around 2 years and it's such a good foundation. There are glitter particles in this which gives your skin a great glow and it leaves the skin looking fresh. I've found that this is better applied with a foundation brush, rather than a sponge as it has quite a thick consistency, however it isn't too thick on the skin.

Mac Studio Fix Fluid
This foundation is a bit more pricey as it's £22 for the bottle but Mac is a high end brand. The colour match of this foundation to my skin is perfect as Mac have so many shades that you can choose from. This foundation is absolutely amazing at covering any imperfections on your skin. I mean it literally covers everything I want it to! It's definitely not a foundation to wear every day as it is so thick I feel that it would cause me to break out in spots, but I do love it and always wear it for nights out or seeing friends. The only drawback of this foundation is that it doesn't come with a pump so it's hard to get the right amount of product out onto your hand, although pumps can be bought separately from the Mac website.

LOreal True Match
This is my new absolute favourite foundation. I bought this as one of my friends told me she used this foundation, and her makeup always looks perfect so I thought I should try this foundation out. My first thought was the the foundation is very thin and liquidy which lead me to believe that it wouldn't give a very good coverage, however I was proved wrong. This foundation gives such a good medium coverage and can easily be built up to a full coverage without it looking too cakey. I absolutely love this foundation and it's such good value as it's only £8.99 for a bottle.

Bourjois Healthy Mix
I've heard about this foundation everywhere and I finally decided to try it out. There are two types of foundation in this range, the full foundation and a lighter one for less coverage. I bought the full foundation as I always prefer foundations that can give the most coverage. This foundation gives your skin a lovely glow and it would be amazing for summer, although it doesn't give a large amount of coverage to the skin and I could still see my freckles and blemishes through it.

L'Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Matte
I'm just recently discovering how good L'Oreal is as a brand and just how cheap and worth the money their products are.  I was reluctant to try this foundation as it looked very thick and like it would paint my face, but I was pleasantly surprised as it doesn't look too cakey on my face. The downside of this foundation is that you can feel it on your face and it does feel very heavy to wear for long period of times, so I wouldn't suggest it as a daily foundation.

Moving Away

Sorry I've been missing in action for a while!
I moved away from home and to University at the end of last month and because of this things have been stressful and very busy! After living in Bath for 3 weeks now I'm finally starting to get used to my timetable and living with others whilst being independent and things are starting to settle down here now as I get more comfortable with everything.
My workload here is pretty big and I never seem to stop reading history books, but I am going to be coming back to this blog and posting regularly soon. I've already got a couple of posts nearly completed so they should be up in the following weeks.

Mini Mac Haul

It was my payday the other week, and since I've left school I've been working a lot more than I used to, so I thought I would treat myself with all of the money I've been making. Obviously a mini Mac haul was the only way I wanted to treat myself, so I just decided to make a little post to show everyone what I bought myself.

Studio Fix Fluid

Swatches of Soar lipliner,Velvet Teddy and Cyber

Studio Fix Fluid
I've only heard good things about Mac foundations and how they always give such a good full coverage. I nought the shade NC15 which, surprise surprise is the palest shade they make, and the colour matches my skin perfectly and gives me a glow.  Although I love this foundation as it perfectly covers all my spots and uneven patches on my skin, I find it quite hard to apply as it can be very time consuming to blend it into the skin and it can leave slight patches on the skin if it's not applied properly.  I've only tried it out two or three times so I will have to try it again before I decide whether to keep using it or not.

"Velvet Teddy" Lipstick
The Velvet Teddy Lipstick is a classic that I have seen and heard about on every blog or youtube channel I've looked at and it is always the first shade to be sold out on the Mac website. However on my pay day it happened to be in stock and I decided it was meant to be, so bought it to see if it could live up to the hype. Its a dark nude shade and it doesn't look as though it would suit someone as pale a me but I was surprised by how much I love the shade and it suits me. It's also a matte shade which means that it really could be worn everyday and it would work with a lot of outfits easily.

"Cyber" Lipstick
I've actually had this lipstick for a long time now but it's from Mac so decided to add this into this Mac post. This lipstick is a very dark shade of plum which has slight red undertones to it. It's such a gorgeous dark colour, however I would say that I've found it quite hard to apply the colour evenly across the whole of my lips and there after often areas of my lips that pick up more of the colour than others leaving them looking quite patchy.

"Soar" Lipliner
This lipliner has become known as the shade that Kylie Jenner always uses for her matte nude lips, and I decided to try it out as she always looks amazing wearing it and it's such a good make-up look on Kylie. It's a creamy lipliner in a light purple/ nude shade that can be worn as just a lipliner with a lipstick, however it can also be worn on it's own and be used to colour the whole lip in. This shade is so beautiful and I can't wait to be able to wear this all the time in Autumn.

Make-up Favourites

Recently I've been experimenting with buying many different brands/ items of make-up to try and find what works best for me and whether I could ever find any perfect products. I've found some amazing new products recently so I thought I would make a list of a few make-up products that I don't think I could live without.
My favourite make-up items

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
I've been searching for a new primer recently as I previously used LOreal Studio Secrets which is around £14 a tub, so I've been looking around for primers that are a bit more affordable. The Instant Pore Eraser primer is very lightweight, it smooths out all of my pores without feeling like its clogging my skin and it's more affordable as it is only £6/7 for a tube.

LOreal True Match Foundation
I think this is the best foundation I've ever used! It covers everything on my face and hides all of my flaws whilst giving my face a bright glow. It is a medium to full coverage which i prefer, however I could see why many people would not want this in a foundation. I use my Real Techniques make-up sponge to apply the foundation and it leaves my skin perfectly smooth and it lasts all day.

Sleek Full Fat Lash Mascara
Sleek is quickly becoming one of my favourite make-up brands. This brand is so affordable yet they easily have some of the best make-up that I've found. My lashes have never looked as long and full as when I use this mascara and people are always asking me which mascara I use. Its easy to apply and gives my lashes so much length and volume.

Bourjois Rouge Editon Velvet Lipstick- Nud-ist
I'd never tried a liquid lipstick before so I thought I would take a risk and buy one to give it a try. I chose this dark pink/ nude as it looked like the shade that could be the most wearable day to day. This lipstick is amazing, it applies as a liquid but quickly dries to a matte finish which will hold on you lips all day without fading. The shade of this is so gorgeous as it is slightly darker than a typical nude colour.

Bourjois Blush Pot- Rose De jaspe
This is such a cute blusher for people like me with pale skin! Its a lovely pale rose pink colour, that works perfectly for me as I'm so pale I'm basically a ghost (I also like the packaging because I'm weird like that and the bow is so cute.)

Seventeen Brow's That! Brow Kit
My eyebrows are easily my favourite part of my make-up to do, and when they look good they are my favourite feature. The Seventeen Brow's That! eyebrow kit contains an eyebrow pencil, wax, setting powder and a highlight which I use to outline, fill and set my brows, however the highlight is a bit too glittery for my brow bone highlight, so its not used that much.

I'm Back

Just a little post to say sorry to everyone that I haven't blogged in so long! :(
I've been so busy, as I recently got my A Level exam results, and I have been trying to organise my mess of a life and make myself prepared enough to move away from my family and across the country to University that I didn't even realise that it's been over a month since the last time I posted anything.
I'll be back soon (hopefully tommorow) posting as much as I can!
